Join me for a six-day ONLINE masterclass where we will build Woman 277, a larger-scale vessel standing at approximately 60 cm (23.5 inches). This immersive workshop is a journey into large-scale coiling. Building at this height requires a more advanced understanding of structural integrity and patience. I will guide you through each step of transforming this ambitious form from paper to life, refining your technique to ensure the clay supports its own weight as we build in deliberate stages. What you will achieve: Large-Scale Engineering: Learn the specific techniques required to build a vessel up to 60 cm without collapse. Phased Construction: Master the art of building in stages, allowing the lower walls to set while maintaining moisture for the next layers. Total Control: Move beyond the clay’s natural tendencies to achieve a precise, predetermined silhouette. Choose Your Experience Option 1: Live Sessions Join us on April 28, 29, 30 & May 5, 6, 7 2026 for real-time guidance and live Q&A. This six-day format allows us the necessary time to let the vessel dry and strengthen between sessions. Option 2: Recording Only For self-paced learning, receive access to the full recordings after the live sessions conclude. Note: All recordings are available for 360 days to allow ample time for your practice. Prerequisites & Preparation Important: This workshop is designed exclusively for those who have completed Level 1 & Level 2 (online or in person). Building at this scale requires the foundational skills established in the earlier levels. You will need: Clay: 24 kg of clay with high grog (essential for structural support). Tools: Ruler, sponge, knife, needle, metal kidney, serrated kidney, surform, banding wheel, and a hairdryer. Technical Guide: You will receive a PDF Blueprint with the dimensions and outline of Woman 277 prior to the first session. The 6-Day Schedule Days 1–3: Establishing the base and building the lower half of the form. Interval: Time for the clay to set and gain structural strength. Days 4–6: Continuing the ascent, refining the silhouette, and finishing the rim at 60 cm. Hosted online via Zoom | Prerequisite: Level 1 & 2 For tool images or any questions regarding the materials needed for this scale, please email info@karinasmagulova.com.
